Nadirah Shakoor - Nadirah met world renowned producer Osunlade in 1991. In the last few years she and Osunlade have been collaborating within the dance music genre, Deep House. Her songs Tree of Life, Pride and You Touched My Soul have become worldwide house classics and her latest 2005 “Just a Breath Away” is doing quite well internationally and is sure to follow along the similar path.

In 1995 Nadirah joined Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band as the featured female vocalist. As a current member of this highly acclaimed band she has done 11 tours, a host of television appearances, and several Jimmy Buffet CDs. She is also featured on five CDs by her band mates, Grammy award winning songwriter/producer /percussionist Ralph MacDonald and legendary, Trinidadian steel drum player, Robert Greenidge along with keyboardist Michael Utley.

Nadirah’s first appearance with Arrested Developments was as their featured female vocalist. When the group disbanded Nadirah continued to record and tour with leader, Speech, supporting his solo career.

She is a Grammy nominated artist and a recipient of the MTV Video award.

In 1987 - back up vocalist for Howard Hewitt’s national tour. In 1989 – toured with Paula Abdul. In 1990 – toured with Janet Jackson, and Jasmine Guy. In 1991 – toured with Nia Peebles. In 1992 toured with Al Jarreau.

Along the way Nadirah wrote, co-produced and performed the song The Winds of Karma for Motown’s hip hop compilation State of Emergency. She released her debut CD Soul Power on Toshiba EMI, Japan, and independently released her second CD Nadirah Songs. Please visit her website at www.Nadirah.com.
